Production manager Jenny King ran with managing director Jo Woods and completed the 26.2-mile course in five hours and 43 minutes.

Their efforts have, so far, raised more than £3,900 for PhabKids, a charity that helps children and young people – most of them with disabilities or disadvantaged in some way – to take part in challenging and fun residential projects.

Amazing experience

Jenny said: “Having only walked a marathon and run a 10km race between us, of course the natural next step is to sign up for the London Marathon – yes, you heard that right. We were among 39,000 people at the start line, excitedly waiting to get going.

“It was extremely hard work, but an amazing experience with tremendous support all day long – it’s a day we will remember for the rest of our lives.”

Jenny said the donations make a “huge difference” not only to the lives of PhabKids, but their families too.

Next challenge

Jenny and Jo would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support, encouragement and sponsorship. A special thank you goes to local tribute band Abbalarf for providing the entertainment at their fund-raising party night in March.

Next up for these guys is the Peterborough-based Great Eastern Run. If you would like to donate to their fund-raising efforts, visit www.justgiving.com/jenjo2016
