Respiratory distress is a common presenting complaint in small animal practice.  Prompt recognition of the localisation of the source of the problem based on history, observation and targeted investigations will ensure the best management for your cases.  During the day, we will share some tips to aid prompt, non-invasive diagnoses, and look at the management of some of the more common causes of dyspnoea in cats and dogs: feline asthma, pneumothorax, laryngeal paralysis, BOAS, pneumonia, heart failure and beyond.

Topics to be covered include:

  • How to localise the source of the problem and make a prompt diagnosis in a minimally invasive way.
  • Management of common causes of dyspnoea including congestive heart failure, feline asthma, pneumothorax and many more.
