Sponsored/advertiser content

Most of what you read in our publications (Veterinary Times, VN Times, VBJ, Congress Times) and on vettimes.co.uk is either:

1. commissioned feature content from independent veterinary professionals at all levels in practice or academia; or

2. news and feature content written by our team of journalists.

To fund this independent high-quality content in print and online, Veterinary Business Development (VBD; publisher of the above publications and website) sells advertising space. On occasions, we also carry paid-for articles/content provided by/on behalf of advertisers or other parties, and we will tell you whenever we do this.

On vettimes.co.uk, any paid-for content will be labelled “Sponsored” on the home page, on section pages, in search results or similar and described as such in the specific articles/content. Sponsored describes any advertising feature, video or other content where a fee has been agreed and/or an advertiser has control and/or sign-off of it. This will happen whether the content is educational/informative/clinical in nature or centred around a product or brand.

In our print publications, paid-for content will either be supplied ready to use in a style of the advertiser’s choosing, or supplied to us to run in either our advertising feature or editorial design styles. In all cases where a fee has been agreed and/or an advertiser has control and/or sign off of the content, articles are marked “Advertising feature”. This will happen whether an article is educational/informative/clinical in nature or centred around a product or brand.

* On some occasions, we may seek a sponsor – additional to our other advertisers – to fund the provision of independently commissioned print content to our readers. Their name and/or logo will appear on the front of the issue. This is the case, for example, with some issues of Congress Times and some Veterinary Times supplements. However, all content is commissioned and/or written, controlled or signed off by VBD. Sponsors are not involved in supplying or approving any editorial content.
