Animal health company Bayer has launched an online survey to collate the views of vets on antibiotic management.

Confidence with antibiotics is essential for vets, says Bayer. Image:

According to the company, the findings will help in development of a series of expert webinars it will release this year.

Bayer says the webinars will aim to address common issues vets have with antibiotics, with potential topics ranging from diagnostics and choosing the right antibiotic to talking to owners about antibiotic treatment and ensuring compliance.

Group product manager at Bayer Vicky McAlister said: “It is essential vets feel confident prescribing antibiotics, not only for the obvious benefit to their patients, but also to ensure responsible use of antibiotics in the battle to slow the development of antibiotic resistance.

“For this reason, Bayer is keen to better understand the challenges vet professionals face when they prescribe antibiotics and particularly the areas where they feel they need more support”.

To complete the survey, visit Bayer’s website. It is available for completion until the February 10, and one participant will win an iPad Mini.
