Vetsonic has expanded its growing portfolio of innovative nutriscience products with the addition of Cavalesse oral solution for horses to its range.
Launched in 2009 by Janssen Animal Health (acquired by Elanco Companion Animal Health in 2011), Cavalesse is a nutritional supplement that helps maintain and support healthy skin in horses prone to summer skin allergies, such as sweet itch.
Cavalesse contains a specialised formulation of vitamins and minerals – including nicotinamide
– and should be dissolved in water to form an oral solution and can be administered daily via a special pipette, either by sprinkling over a small handful of feed or adding to a healthy treat.
The supplement helps horses maintain a healthy skin and promotes normal immune function, the company claims.
Cavalesse will join Vetsonic’s new range of small animal and equine products to complement the company’s existing large animal portfolio. With the addition of new and unique products to the market, tried and tested formulations and already established brands, the range aims to offer small animal and equine vets the opportunity to develop client sales and increase profits.
Vetsonic managing director Ray Rochester said: “It’s an exciting phase in the development of Vetsonic, which will see us rapidly expanding in the increasingly competitive small animal and equine market. Cavalesse is a welcome addition to this portfolio.”
