A team from Vets4Pets in Darlington have just completed the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Guide Dogs.
A team of vets from Vets4Pets in Darlington has scaled the heights to raise cash for Guide Dogs.
Staff, family and friends from the practice walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on September 28. The challenge comprised of a walk covering 25 miles and a total ascent of 7,064ft, which included the peaks Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
The team included veterinary surgeons Rob Reid and Natasha Sangherra, nurses Chantel Brocklebank and Heather Irving, receptionist Jen Mitchell and family and friends along with four-legged mascot Finlay.
Ms Brocklebank said: “A fantastic day was had by all. It was tough and by far the most I have ever walked myself, but we had great spirit and completed the challenge in 11 hours and 40 minutes – within our 12 hour target.
“While our energy was beginning to lag it was spurred on by Finlay who must have walked twice what we had during the day.”
The team has managed to raise nearly £700, but would like to raise more so visit Vets4Pets Darlington Just Giving page.
