An adventurous vet team has raised nearly £300 for charity after taking on the muddiest and toughest of challenges.

The team – from Bridge Vets in Portlethen, Aberdeen – took on the very popular Tough Mudder challenge at Dalkeith Country Park to raise funds for Hounds for Heroes.

The challenge sees teams take on 10 to12-mile obstacle courses designed to test all-round strength, teamwork, stamina and mental grit. Obstacles include mud, water, climbing under, climbing over and everything else in-between.

The Bridge Vets group – made up of nine veterinary professionals – were sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim’s Seraquin brand. They managed to complete the course having negotiated crawling under barbed wire and avoiding being zapped by electric cables.

Having completed the course, team members were given a pint and the famed orange headband as their reward. They enjoyed it so much, they said, they’ve signed up to do the same event next year.
