A family-run veterinary group has again been named as one of the best companies in the country to work for.
White Cross Vets, which has 12 practices in the north and midlands, was named as an ‘extraordinary company to work for’ for the second year running in the Best Companies Survey, and has also become the first veterinary group to receive the top three star rating for two consecutive years.
The survey, carried out annually, is used to determine the Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For 2014 list. However, White Cross must now wait until March to find out whether it has improved on its ranking in the list, after achieving 48th place in 2013. The group, which employs a 95-strong team across 12 practices, was highly praised for its commitment to personal development, well-being and leadership.
White Cross Vets managing director Tim Harrison said: “The training, development and team building opportunities our team benefits from ensures everyone is happy and confident in their work environment and this translates directly to the positive service that our clients and their pets receive.
“We genuinely care about our people and we also place a lot of emphasis on making a positive contribution to the local communities in which we operate. Our company ethos focuses on quality and integrity and the fact that our team is so happy is testament to the way in which the entire practice operates. To be named as one of the best places to work in the UK is a fabulous achievement and to receive the highly coveted three stars is the icing on the cake.”
