A Lytham-based company that specialises in the manufacture and sales of animal health products is celebrating success in this year’s BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards) – Lancashire’s most prestigious business awards.
Tangerine Holdings – whose portfolio includes such brands as VetPlus, Agri-Lloyd, Farm Sense and Carr & Day & Martin – beat stiff competition from an array of Lancashire-based manufacturers to win the BIBA “Manufacturer of the Year” award, which was presented at a gala dinner at the Blackpool Tower Circus and Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Chairman David Haythornthwaite said: “We manufacture 85% of the products we sell at our state-of-the-art Lytham GMP manufacturing facility and are wholly committed to UK manufacturing.
“We have invested more than £3,000,000 over the past eight years and this helps to support, amongst other things, the creation of local jobs for local people. We believe we are at the forefront of Lancashire’s manufacturing and export economy which benefits both the local supply chain and local residents.”
The company was applauded for its success in nurturing a “progressive and inclusive working culture”, with a graduate training programme, commendation on The Sunday Times’ “Best Companies to Work For – One to Watch” list and active engagement in local charities and communities.
Mr Haythornthwaite explained: “People make companies. Anyone can get a product to market but to build a truly great business you need to invest in people. That’s why we are following the Best Companies Programme and why we ensure that all our employees receive the training they need to develop their careers and add value to the company.”
Tangerine Holdings was also recognised for its recent achievements in bringing new, ground breaking products to market, including Synoquin EFA and Equimist.
