MWI Veterinary Supply – the parent company of one of the UK’s leading veterinary wholesalers, Centaur Services – has acquired practice management software company Vetspace.

Vetspace, formerly Jupiter Systems, provides server and cloud-based practice management software to vets and pet owners throughout the UK.

It has been developing specialised software for veterinary practices since 1989, including both traditional and cloud-based practice management software and it has installed its software in more than 1,000 premises.

The acquisition sees Vetspace joining a group of companies including Centaur Services and Securos – a manufacturer and supplier of innovative veterinary orthopedic solutions.
Centaur Services’ core function is to provide daily delivery of the range of products required by UK.

MWI Veterinary Supply says Vetspace customers will now benefit from an enhanced level of customer service, innovative product development, technological investment and an opportunity for greater integration between their practice management software and wholesaler.

The relationship is not exclusive, however; Centaur Services customers may continue to use any other practice management system, while Vetspace customers may continue to work with other wholesalers.

Centaur Services’ managing director Brian Topper said: “Our focus is on delivering a high quality service that’s accurate and reliable, and we believe aligning our offer with that of Vetspace will have major benefits for the future of both ours and our customers’ businesses.”

Nader Pour of Vetspace said they were delighted to be joining MWI Veterinary Supply.
