The Society for Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) is launching a “Recommend a Vet” campaign as part of its plan to increase the organisation’s membership.

SPVS’ 1,200 members will be asked to recommend another practising vet to the organisation with a £10 John Lewis voucher as a reward for both the existing and new member.

Colin Thomson, SPVS president, said: “We are proud to have a very high membership retention rate, proving that once vets join SPVS, they appreciate all the many benefits and stay loyal, renewing their membership year after year. Now we’d like to harness that loyalty by asking every member to recommend a veterinary colleague who should also be enjoying the benefits of membership.”

“SPVS is the only organisation that exists to support practising vets and help them develop their practices. It provides members with networking opportunities so that they can share their experiences whether it’s face-to-face at congress, as part of our CPD programme or via our very proactive email discussion group.

“Our fee and salary surveys are being developed further and we will be launching new initiatives later this year. It’s an exciting time to be joining SPVS and we look forward to welcoming new members on board.”
