An animal health manufacturer has pledged to raise thousands of pounds for assistance dog charity Hounds for Heroes through sales of its canine joint supplement.
Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica will make a donation for every pack of Seraquin sold during the next five months, until December 2013. It hopes to raise £20,000 for Hounds for Heroes and is also calling on vet practices to support the donation drive.
Boehringer has produced a Seraquin Hounds for Heroes’ poster for veterinary practices to put up in their waiting rooms. It will also be running a prize draw competition for practices to win an owner evening talk by Hounds for Heroes founder Allen Parton and the first 500 vet practice responses to the competition will receive a Hounds for Heroes dog tag badge.
Rob Lucy, small animal brand manager at Boehringer, said: “Hounds for Heroes is an inspirational charity that really makes a difference to those who have been injured or disabled while putting their lives on the line for their country.”
Allen Parton added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Boehringer to raise much-needed funds. Not only will it help us fund the purchase, training and support of a new puppy, but it will also encourage veterinary practices to talk to their clients about their dog’s mobility issues and the benefits of products such as Seraquin.”
