The RSPCA is hoping dogs will take the lead – with the help of their owners – and register for 2015’s “Big Walkies” event.

On May 31, the RSPCA’s biggest Big Walkies yet will be staged in London to launch RSPCA Week 2015.

Dogs can take part in either a 3km or a 5km sponsored walk around Alexandra Palace.

A second event will take part in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham a week later on June 7, with allocated start times from 10am.

The charity, which hopes up to a 1,000 dogs will take part, is asking canines get sponsored to raise vital funds for animal welfare work.

Big Walkies event manager Tess Drew said: “We are really looking forward to the RSPCA Big Walkies this year, as it is going to be our biggest ever.

“We really hope all our supporters and their four-legged friends come out to support us and help raise vital funds for animal welfare. It is going to be a brilliant day and a chance for our dogs to take the lead.”
