Northwest Surgeons is expanding its clinical specialisms into the field of neurology, with the appointment of Lorenzo Golini.

Neurologist Lorenzo Golini has joined Northwest Surgeons.

Dr Golini underwent residency training in neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Zurich, where he remained as a clinician afterwards.

He holds the European Diploma in Veterinary Neurology and a Master’s degree in behavioural medicine. His main interests lie in epilepsy and magnetic resonance imaging.

Northwest Surgeons managing director Chris May said he was delighted to welcome Dr Golini to the team.

“Neurology is a natural extension of the services we offer and is an area of growth in response to an increased demand from our referring vets,” Dr May said.

Dr Golini will accept referrals for both medical and surgical neurology cases. Existing specialist teams at Northwest Surgeons, which recently became part of the Pets at Home vets group, offer referrals in orthopaedic, soft tissue and spinal surgery, and internal medicine. These services are supported by veterinary specialists in anaesthesia, pain management and diagnostic imaging.
