Veterinary staff from YourVets Wythall have shown their true grit by taken part in a gruelling obstacle course for charity.
Eight colleagues tackled the 8km Tough Mudder Half to raise money for the neonatal unit at Birmingham Women’s Hospital.
The notoriously challenging course is made up of more than 14 obstacles and is designed to test teamwork and grit.
This was the first time the team from YourVets on Alcester Road had taken on such a challenge, but they were determined to cross the finish line together – and they did, with only a few bruises between them.
Vet nurse Lotti Burton said: “It was a really daunting, yet exciting time leading up to the event, as we were all aware how hard the course can be, but we knew it would be worth it for a very worthy charity.”
It was important the team chose a cause that really meant something to them, Lotti said.
She explained: “One of our Tough Mudder Half team members, Hannah Reeves, has the neonatal unit to thank for helping her little girl, Amelia, who spent time there when she was first born – so this was our way of saying thank you.
“We’re all really thankful for the support and donations we have received – standing at £250 and rising.”
