The first comprehensive business management resource for veterinary practice managers has been launched by online clinical resource specialist Vetstream.
and aims to provide practical strategies and tools to help managers work with their veterinary colleagues to increase productivity and profitability.
Available to access via a PC, Mac, smart device or tablet, the resource includes tools such as the Boston Consulting Group Matrix, which analyses the profitability of services and allocates resources effectively.
The human resources section includes advice on team building and employee engagement, as well as strategies to handle bullying and harassment.
Advice on personal skills development is also provided, with sections covering listening skills and mediation among others.
Vetstream managing director Mark Johnston said: “The premise is simple. To operate at maximum effectiveness, practice managers need expertise in every aspect of running a business and, realistically, no manager can ever know it all – especially given the frequency of changes in some areas – regulation, for instance.
“With a great deal of online support already available to clinicians, we wanted to ensure practice managers also have access to help, wherever they are and whenever they need it. With Practis, we believe they will be able to work more efficiently and effectively; to develop their skills and to take on new responsibilities with confidence without having to leave the practice to undertake an MBA programme.”
