The Irish Setter Rescue Group Charitable Trust has been given a helping hand to support Irish Setter, George through hip surgery and rehabilitation thanks to a £500 donation from Petplan.

Each month, Petplan randomly selects one of their registered animal charities in a prize draw to receive £500. This month’s lucky recipient is a Sudbury-based animal rehoming centre dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of Irish setters. The charity also funds urgent veterinary treatment.
Trust secretary Maureen Hurll said: “The generous £500 donation from Petplan provides a much-appreciated contribution towards the £6,000 cost of George’s hip replacement. At just 22 months old, a new hip will make a huge difference to George’s quality of life and enable him to enjoy activities that are usual to a dog his age. George will stay with his adoptive parents until he is fully recovered and rehabilitated.”
Isabella von Mesterhazy, head of marketing at Petplan said: “We work with more than 1,200 animal charities, more than any other insurer. We understand the challenges animal charities face and provide 4 weeks’ free insurance to anyone rehoming a pet from one of our animal charities.”
