The team that undertook Onswitch’s University Challenge charity cycle has now raised more than £2,000 for Canine Partners, with donations still rolling in.

This year’s charity cycle was a gruelling ride around all eight veterinary universities in the UK and Ireland, covering 835 miles in just four days.

Setting off from Edinburgh on October 3, the core team consisted of Donald Lambert and Adam Parke from Onswitch, along with Roger Hobill, Richard James, Mike Brampton and Wallace Campbell.

Meanwhile the rest of the team consisted of Rita Dingwall, Susie Coughlin, Carolyne and Ollie Crowe, Graham Milligan, Dan Brockman and Ian Janes, who joined them for parts of the route.

The Onswitch bus Bertha also accompanied the riders and served as a support vehicle, with navigation and coffee-making facilities supplied.

Alison Lambert, managing director of Onswitch, said the ride finished in style at Nottingham on October 6.

“We had so much support from the universities and students along the way, who supplied a very welcome selection of drinks, cakes, pizzas and bacon butties at each stop,” she said.

“Thank you to everyone who has donated or supported this event in any way – it’s still not too late to donate and help us reach our target of £3,000.
