Cats Protection is launching a microsite highlighting the importance of neutering kittens at four months of age.

Working in collaboration with other welfare charities, the microsite will include a re-branded kitten neutering database (KIND) listing practices that neuter kittens at four months.

Neutering is widely recognised as the only effective way to reduce the number of unwanted cats being born in the UK and now the group is looking for professionals to educate other vets about neutering kittens in this age group.

Cats Protection is one of many animal charities working together under the umbrella of the Cats Population Control Group (CPCG), which will be at stand 518 at BSAVA Congress.

The CPCG has been working to provide a one-stop-shop for vets who are already neutering from four months or who are still neutering at six months, but are keen to introduce four-month neutering.

On the new microsite, which will be launched on April 8, visitors will find various neutering resources and information, including articles on scientific evidence supporting four-month neutering and training resources.
