A dog that’s been searching for a home for almost a year is thought to be the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA)’s most lovelorn canine.

Trigger is still looking for a loving home of his own.

Six-year-old Trigger has seen countless kennel mates come and go, while he is yet to have one person wanting to call him his or her own.

Trigger, a Rottweiler English bull terrier cross, is very popular with staff at RSPCA West Hatch in Taunton, Somerset due to his love of cuddles and affectionate nature – but potential owners have been passing him by.

Animal centre deputy manager Anita Clark said: “It is so sad – poor, lonely heart Trigger is the most loving dog and has so much love to give. He just needs to find his perfect owner.

“He has seen countless other dogs head home to loving new owners, but for some reason no one has showed any interest in him no matter what we do. We just can’t understand why.

“He is so handsome and so affectionate. We have been sharing his story and pictures on Facebook and telling everyone how lovely he is, but no one seems to want to come forward for him.

“He has been available for 332 days now and we just want to see him paired up with his perfect owner and live happily ever after.”|
