A series of “interactive” CPD evenings hosted by Jurox UK were so successful that 95% of delegates claimed they would adjust their anaesthesia protocols as a result of the events.

The pharmaceutical manufacturer hosted the five evening CPD events in Bristol, Bromsgrove, Rotherham, Durham and Cambridge throughout May, June and July 2014, attracting a total of 162 delegates.
Those attending heard presentations from Jo Murrell (Bristol/Bromsgrove), Matt Gurney (Rotherham /Durham) or Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists president Elizabeth Leece (Cambridge).

Each lecturer presented a series of interactive anaesthesia cases, which were chosen live by the audience using “TurningPoint” audience response technology, a system that allows delegates to actively participate in presentations.

In addition, interactive presentations on “making the best use of the monitoring you have available” were delivered by Vicky Ford-Fennah BSc (Hons) VTS(Anesthesia) A1 VPAC RVN and Sam McMillan VTS(Anesthesia) DipAVN (Med) RVN.

Data collected following the events found that only 4% of delegates were totally happy with their current anaesthetic protocols, and 50% said they would appreciate help with them. Further, 95% of delegates claimed they would “do something different” in their anaesthesia as a result the event.
