A leading animal health company has produced a range of fireworks awareness materials for vet practices.

Zylkene materials include posters, stands and wall displaysVétoquinol, which produces small animal calming supplement Zylkène, has created the materials to help practices educate clients about how noisy fireworks can affect their pets in the run-up to Bonfire Night.

According to figures from the PDSA, 73% of owners report their animals are scared of fireworks.

According to Vétoquinol product manager Helen Walker: “Fireworks can cause pets to become unsettled and can also cause elevated responses to other sudden noises such as door slamming or thunder.

“The waiting room support materials can help vets to inform owners and encourage them to take precautions to help their pets cope.”

Vétoquinol’s new support materials include:

  • Wall displays
  • Free-standing show cards (5ft high)
  • Advice leaflet in a sturdy eye catching holder
  • Shelf wobblers
  • Zylkène poster

Ms Walker added: “Educating pet owners about ways in which they can support their pets during difficult times can have a variety of benefits to veterinary practices, including increased income and improved client loyalty.”

For more information or to request the materials, speak to a Vétoquinol product manager or telephone 01280 825497.
