Nearly 3,500 delegates from 48 countries registered for The Webinar Vet’s International Virtual Congress event, which took place from 20-21 January.

Virginia McKenna
Virginia McKenna was a highlight of the event.

With 45 CPD hours available over 48 hours, the annual congress and pre-congress CPD event is one of the largest hosted in the UK, said company founder Anthony Chadwick.

Striking a chord

Mr Chadwick said: “The event is the UK’s only online veterinary CPD congress, and attracted speakers and delegates spanning the globe.

“Our keynote presentation by Mark Jones and actress Virginia McKenna, from the Born Free Foundation, was a highlight of the event.

“The feedback on the whole event has been amazing; however, the Born Free webinar seems to have struck a particular chord. A typical example is ‘Amazing webinar by Virginia Mckenna @BornFreeUSA @thewebinarvet on #lion #conservation. Thought provoking and inspirational #VC2017’.”

Mindfulness

The event was supported by the Worldwide Veterinary Service with webinar sponsors Elanco, St Francis Buying Group, Merial, Henry Schein and Bandaging Angels, and a total of 42 speakers providing 44 webinars.

A CPD webinar series on mindfulness is being run throughout February and March by The Webinar Vet for veterinary teams who will learn techniques to develop their mindfulness through “formal” meditation practices.
