Elanco Animal Health has announced three complimentary, half-day CPD meetings called “Ketosis – putting theory into practice”, to take place in late July 2015.

Cow with nervous ketosis.

The company has teamed up with experts in the field, including:
  • Alastair McCrae (Glasgow Vet School)
  • Richard Cooper (EBVC)
  • Owen Atkinson (Dairy Veterinary Consultancy Ltd)
Sessions will include “transitioning into success“, which will examine managing the dry cow and how best to prepare for a successful calving and lactation. Another session will look in more detail at ketosis, how to monitor it in a herd and some SOP guidelines, while another will examine the role of the ration in ketosis management.

Two ketosis management case studies will also be presented and the group will then split into a workshop format to develop practice SOPs and action plans.

Each evening will conclude with a “mystery energy-related challenge” before dinner and an overnight stay.

Meeting dates and locations:

Registration is from 1:30pm and the meetings run from 2-6pm.
Places for these events are limited and vets should contact their Elanco territory manager for further information.
