Elanco Companion Animal Health has launched the third issue of its popular “Under The Skin” dermatology newsletter with a focus on pruritus.

The e-newsletter covers the flea’s role in allergic skin disease and how to manage these sometimes complex and frustrating cases.

It features a review of a challenging feline pruritus case and information on decision making when working up feline and canine cases and why the underlying cause of pruritus in cats can be difficult to diagnose.

Including a decision tree as a useful method for evaluating whether fleas may be a factor in causing pruritus in dogs, the newsletter also contains an article from the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery by Meng Siak and Mandy Burrows entitled “Flea control in cats: new concepts and the current armoury“.

Dr Peri Lau-Gillard, European specialist in veterinary dermatology, is guest editor of the newsletter, and other interesting topics covered include why Comfortis is the first choice for flea control among leading European dermatologists.
There is also the opportunity to watch recent pruritus webinars presented by Craig Griffin and Didier Carlotti.
