The couple are preparing to retire from Eastfield Veterinary Hospital, which they transformed from a tiny surgery into one of the UK’s most respected practices.

Expansion

After taking over the practice in 1993, Eastfield Vets now employs seven vets and 19 VNs in North Thoresby, near Grimsby, and operates a branch surgery in Cleethorpes.

Last year, its main site was granted hospital status and it underwent a £250,000 revamp to create:

  • a state-of-the-art operating theatre
  • an x-ray room
  • a prep room
  • a dental suite
  • a scanning room with ultrasound and endoscopy
  • separate dog and cat wards
  • an extended waiting room

Thrive

The couple believe Eastfield Vets, which joined VetPartners veterinary group 12 months ago, will continue to thrive in the capable hands of its veterinary surgeons (see picture), who are all familiar faces to clients.

Mr Jeffreson said: “Working at Eastfield has been an all-consuming passion for us for the past 24 years. We will miss the staff, clients and our patients, but we are happy in the knowledge there will be no change in the quality of service and high standards of care for which Eastfield has become recognised.”
