In June’s edition of Feline Focus, recognition and management of pain in cats was covered in detail – a topic often forgotten or misunderstood.
The lead article was written by the authors of the Glasgow composite pain scale for acute pain in cats (GCPS) and outlined how the scale was designed and how to use it in practice to improve the provision of analgesia for cats.
Additionally, Jo Murrell encouraged nurses to be proactive in their involvement in the assessment and management of pain in the June webinar on acute pain.
Future editions will look at feline idiopathic cystitis, dental disease and anaesthetic complications. Future webinars will include monitoring anaesthesia, feline heart disease and ECGs, hyperthyroidism and caring for senior cats, including how to run successful senior clinics.
