A three-year-old boy has died after being bitten by a dog in Essex.
The incident happened at a property in a residential street in Halstead at 5:40pm on Thursday 19 August.
A 29-year-old woman has been arrested for allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control and injuring a person, Essex Police said.
The dog has been seized by police and placed in kennels.
The incident happened in Parker Way. The boy was taken to hospital, but died from his injuries, police said.
It comes just days after a 52-year-old man was attacked and killed by a dog that had been returned to its owner despite concerns it was dangerous.
