BCF Technology has been helping to rejuvenate an after school club on the outskirts of Glasgow.
St Serf’s Primary School in Airdrie is used as an after school club for 5 to 12-year-olds during term time and is run by the YMCA, but the building had become in serious need of renovation.
The BCF team decided to help out by getting involved with a project to give the building a complete makeover during the summer holidays.
BCF marketing director Jason Rogers said: ”At BCF Technology we believe in helping our local communities. I visited the site at the start of the school holidays and saw the scale of the task. I did think the job was simply too big for our team – there are about 40 of us based at our global headquarters at Bellshill near Glasgow.
”We decided to split into two teams, which worked their socks off and, despite the showery weather, managed to paint the entire building, both inside and out. In fact, we also managed to paint the outside of the neighbouring building too. We achieved more than I had possibly imagined we could.”
Lovely and clean
All work was carried out in conjunction with teams from the YMCA, while the scaffolding required for the project was provided by CKD Developments.
Mary McKinnon from the YMCA added: ”This is going to make such a huge difference to our children, having a lovely and clean environment for the kids to spend time in. We cannot thank BCF enough for the work it has done here.”
