Bayer Animal Health has launched an online survey that aims to gain an insight into the use and understanding of antibiotics both in practice and during veterinary training.
Veterinarians and students wishing to take part can complete the survey online via the links below, and all participants will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad mini.
The first stage in a continued student and vet outreach, the two questionnaires aim to gain insight into the influences and concerns
involved when veterinary professionals select a course of antibiotic treatment, as well as the understanding of the subject amongst veterinary students.
The data will be used to aid the development of a complete veterinary antibiotics summary resource.
Explaining the rationale behind the survey, Group product manager Vicky McAlister
said: “The importance of understanding the concerns of vets and vet students in responsibly prescribing antibiotics is essential when looking at the issue of antibiotic resistance and the implications for the future of animal health. The large number of antibiotics available can present a challenge and lead to confusion when prescribing.
“The surveys provide a unique opportunity for vets and students to shape learning and reference resources that address the specific challenges they face when choosing and using antibiotics”.
The surveys will be live until March 24, 2014, giving vets and students just a few weeks to give their opinion and be in with a chance of winning.
