A leading fish health provider has appointed a specialist to its global team.
The Fish Vet Group – which has operations in Scotland, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Norway, the US and Asia – has appointed world-renowned salmonid health specialist Marian McLoughlin to its global team.
Founder of Belfast-based Aquatic Veterinary Services, Dr McLoughlin has more than 25 years’ experience as a dedicated aquatic animal vet and is a leading authority on salmonid alphaviruses and pancreas disease in salmon.
Continuing to work from her Belfast base, Dr McLoughlin will be linked to the Fish Vet Group global team of diagnosticians via digital pathology technology.
Dr McLoughlin said: “I am really excited about joining such a vibrant and talented global group and look forward to assisting the team in providing a world-class fish health service.”
Fish Vet Group managing director Dave Cox, meanwhile, said he “could not be happier”.
“I have worked with Marian for longer than I care to remember and have total respect for her extensive capabilities,” he said. “She is one of the most widely respected fish vets on the planet and brings with her an impressive client base.
“It confirms – once again – the Fish Vet Group’s unparalleled ability to attract the highest calibre of candidates and further consolidates our ability to offer exceptional support to our clients within the global aquaculture arena.”
