One of the most recognisable public figures of the past 20 years will open SPVS VPMA Congress next year, thanks to sponsorship from VBJ.
The congress is the largest veterinary management event in the UK and will be opened by communication strategist Alastair Campbell.
Other speakers include new names from the UK and the US, together with more familiar faces tackling new subjects, including:
- Rick Debowes, acclaimed US speaker and vet, who runs the leadership programme at Washington State University’s veterinary school
- Claudia Hammond, presenter of Radio 4’s All in the Mind, who will chair the Mind Matters mental health stream
- Michael Pagnotta, Celtic Manor’s head of learning and development, who will return to share tips on training staff to deliver five-star service
Additions to the programme include a breakout mini-conference for those new to management in veterinary practice, appealing both to those with veterinary knowledge but no management experience and those who have been managers elsewhere but are new to vet practice.
The equine stream returns with additional workshops, offering guidance on the practice standards scheme for equine and large animal managers and vets.
Bogus Brothers will return to entertain at the banquet, which will have a James Bond theme. The networking dinner and quiz promises to be a fast, furious and fun way to meet new people.
The exhibition is now sold out, with Merial named another platinum sponsor alongside Citation.
- The SPVS VPMA congress returns to Celtic Manor resort on January 29 and 30. Visit SPVS events or telephone 01453 872731.
