Help! My dog’s just been hit by a car and he’s unconscious and he’s bleeding from his mouth!

Would you know how best to deal with an animal with head trauma? At this meeting our world-renowned Specialists will guide you through how to approach these difficult cases. Areas to be covered will include:

  • Triage and assessment of the case
  • Emergency stabilisation and anaesthesia
  • Imaging of the head
  • Ocular trauma
  • Management of brain injuries
  • Reconstruction of wounds to the head
  • Orophyaryngeal stick injuries
  • Treatment of facial fractures

The day will be highly interactive and case-based, with an emphasis on situations that are commonly encountered in practice. At the end of the day you’ll feel confident you have all the most up to date knowledge to manage these challenging patients.

Learning objectives

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Assess and stabilise patients with head trauma
  • Formulate protocols for general anaesthesia for head trauma patients
  • Understand different modalities for imaging of the head
  • Describe options for management of injuries to the head, including the eyes, brain and soft tissues, and the bones of the skull

Day CPD Forum schedule:

The meeting will begin with Registration and coffee between 9.00 and 9.30am and it will close at 5.30pm.

Lunch will be provided and, for those who are interested, there will be an opportunity to have a tour of the hospital at lunchtime.

Certificates of Attendance will be available to download from your member’s CPD registrations area for your CPD records after the event.

Attendance of the meeting will cost just £150 including VAT, this fee includes lunch and refreshments which will be provided throughout the day. Payment can be made using a credit or debit card or a PayPal account.

A receipted invoice will be available to download. Please note that cancellations will incur a 50% administration fee any time after reserving a place.
