Getting it right – improving your anaesthesia and analgesia
This course will cover situations where provision of anaesthesia or analgesia is not as straightforward as it might be. It will deal specifically with anaesthesia of animals with cardiac disease, hepatic disease or renal disease, and will identify why analgesia ‘fails’ in some patients, and how this may be managed.
In addition, the current guidelines for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation will be discussed, before the course ends with a short discussion session.
The five key things you will learn from this course are:
- How to anaesthetise animals with cardiac disease
- How to anaesthetise animals with hepatic disease
- How to anaesthetise animals with renal disease
- How to deal with ‘difficult’ pain cases
- How to effectively perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
