A seven part series on Endocrine Emergencies with Rob Foale.
The signs of an endocrine disease or the signs of an animal under treatment becoming unstable can often be completely missed until a crisis point is reached and an animal arrives in an emergency situation. Recognising that an endocrine disorder may the underlying aetiology is vital for rapid diagnosis, emergency treatment and management. This course will cover the approach to hypocalcaemia and hypoglcaemia including treatment protocols, before moving on to recognizing and treating diabetic ketoacidosis, an addisonian crisis, hypoparathyroidism and an insulinoma.
