BEVA – Out of Hours Emergencies for Mixed Practitioners
This one day course is designed for those whose caseload may not be exclusively equine, but who are required to attend equine emergencies ‘in the field’, whatever the hour and frequently without the option for referral, when swift and decisive action are essential.
Our speakers, chosen for their wealth of experience in working ‘at the coal face’, will provide up to date, hands-on, practical advice in dealing with emergencies such as colic, peri-parturient problems and the injured/lame/recumbent horse, in addition to many other commonly encountered situations.
The programme has been updated to include a consideration of both the physical and mental challenges associated with this type of work. Coping strategies will be discussed, aimed at keeping OOH vets safe and well.
Whilst consideration of each and every potential situation is unrealistic, it is hoped that delegates will move on from this course with renewed confidence and sound strategies, prepared and ready for next time the pager goes off…
