0949 Practical Wound Management and Bandaging Techniques for Nurses
About this course
This course will take a practical approach to wound management for veterinary nurses. All aspects of dealing with wounds will be discussed including initial assessment, lavage and debridement, through to dressing selection and the application of bandages. Dealing with difficult wounds will also be covered, looking at the common reasons for delayed, or incomplete wound healing.

- Understanding of the different debridement techniques and their indications
- How to select the most appropriate wound dressing for a specific wound
- Understanding why wounds may fail to heal, and what can be done
- Improved bandaging skills, including how to bandage ‘difficult’ locations, including practical sessions on placing bandadges, including tie over dressings
