The Yorkshire Veterinary Society (YVS) is preparing to celebrate a milestone birthday later this month.
The society, a local division of the British Veterinary Association, will mark its 150th anniversary with a dinner and dance at the prestigious Queens hotel in Leeds on October 11.
YVS spokesman Keith Bellringer told Vetsonline: “This is a milestone for the profession and it should be a great event. We’re hoping coverage about the anniversary will raise awareness among the profession about the society, what it does and what it stands for.”
As well as a gala dinner and band, the event will feature a keynote speech from society president Martin Patterson, who will be quoting from the YVS’s very first presidential speech and drawing parallels between the issues faced by veterinary surgeons in the 1860s and by today’s practitioners.
Tickets for the event are almost gone, however, you can find out more about the society and how to join by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
