A vet practice that has been in business since 1976 will mark its 40th anniversary with a fund-raiser for Greater Manchester’s largest hospice.
Woodcroft Veterinary Group will host a fun day at its flagship practice in Cheadle on 27 November, featuring a guest appearance by BBC Radio Manchester Sunday Show radio presenter Eamonn O’Neal.
Visitors will be able to meet a pony from The Animal Sanctuary in Wilmslow, have their faces painted, visit a cake stall and enjoy balloon modelling. There will also be the opportunity to buy raffle tickets and have a tour of the practice.
By inviting donations on the day, the business hopes to raise around £1,000 for St Ann’s Hospice in Cheadle, which helps approximately 3,000 people a year across Greater Manchester.
Organiser Nicola Taylor, of Woodcroft Veterinary Group, part of VetPartners UK, said: “We have been part of the community since 1976, so we wanted to mark our anniversary by helping a fantastic local cause.
“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, so we feel this will be a popular charity among people coming along to our fun day. St Ann’s Hospice does amazing work that makes a real difference to so many patients and their family.
“All profits from our big day will be donated to them, and people coming along on the day will be welcome to make a donation.”
