Having been officially crowned the most beautiful young woman in Toon, the 2010 Miss Newcastle has proved she has brains as well as beauty by securing a place a Bristol university to study veterinary science.

Having been officially crowned the most beautiful young woman in Toon, the 2010 Miss Newcastle has proved she has brains as well as beauty by securing a place a Bristol university to study veterinary science.

Miss Newcastle 2010, Vee SethuVee Sethu, a sixth former at Dame Allan’s Schools in Newcastle, achieved A grades in biology and Spanish and a B in chemistry, which guarantee her a place at Bristol University.

Miss Sethu, 18, from Benton, North Tyneside, has also been selected to perform with the National Youth Theatre.

She said: “I’m thrilled with the results. It’s been a busy time juggling my studies with the acting and Miss Newcastle commitments, but it has all worked so well. I’m looking forward to starting my studies in Bristol next September and in the meantime I will be concentrating on my acting.”

Dr John Hind, principal at Dame Allan’s Schools, said: “Vee has worked hard for her achievements and we all wish her well in her future careers.”
