Four veterinary nurses (VNs) have been honoured for their outstanding work at the Northern Ireland Veterinary Nursing Awards 2014.

The judges of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) awards – now in their seventh year – said they had a “formidable task” picking the winners from the nominations made.

“The quality of the nominations reflects growing appreciation of the tremendous efforts veterinary nurses put into caring for their patients and animals in the wider community,” a BVNA spokesman said.

The awards are sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and the company’s Northern Ireland (NI) and Channel Islands VN territory manager Susie Hill congratulated the winners and thanked everyone involved.

“Once again, I’ve been humbled by the efforts of veterinary nurses who care so passionately for their patients and animals across the community,” she said.

“Everyone at Hill’s is proud to be associated with this event and to support the veterinary community in Northern Ireland.”

The four winners won gift vouchers and trophies.
