Attendees at the Veterinary Marketing Association (VMA) Awards next March will be able to attend two simultaneous 90-minute CPD sessions on either “Effective networking” or “Social media”.

Social media workshop on offer at VMA awards.

The CPD events have been sponsored by Veterinary Business Development Ltd, and both sessions will run simultaneously from 10.30am at the London Lancaster Hotel before the awards commence, said committee member and event organiser Justin Phillips. “We have chosen topics we know will create really useful content, delivered by two highly engaging speakers prior to the awards ceremony.

“Anyone attending will gain practical skills they can apply straight away to boost their business and their career,” said Justin.

“The ‘effective networking’ workshop sets the scene with an examination of the purposes and benefits of networking. In the practical session, delegates will learn preparation, structure and overcoming classic networking fears. Is there a better way to prepare yourself or a colleague for the biggest networking event in the veterinary industry?”

The social media (SM) workshop will cover the latest tips and tricks for virtual survival from an expert who is already delivering success with SM in the veterinary sector, said Justin. “The session will focus on the importance of blogging, and how SM links with a wider PR and communications strategy.

The session will also cover the SM platforms that veterinary organisations are already using to attract new business, as well as practical tips on how to improve Google rankings and build relationships through Facebook and Twitter.”

The awards event takes place at 12pm on March 13, 2015, preceded by the CPD workshops at 10.30am. Tickets for the CPD are £45 and will be limited, so early booking is advised. Tickets can be purchased online at the VMD website.
