Virbac promotes senior product manager Simon Boulton to new position. Mr Boulton qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004 and joined the company in 2010.
Virbac UK has announced the appointment of vet Simon Boulton to marketing manager for the company’s companion animal sector.
Mr Boulton, who qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004 and worked in practice for three years before joining Virbac in 2010, has been promoted from his previous position of senior product manager, where he looked after the company’s vaccine, antibiotic, anaesthetic and diagnostics ranges alongside the Virbagen Omega, Soloxine and Tiaci brands.
During his time as product manager, Mr Boulton has launched CaniLeish, the first vaccine for leishmaniosis licensed for use in Europe, and also created the company’s ‘Parvo-Alert’ campaign, which includes a range of canine parvovirus (CPV) educational materials for practices to use with owners and @parvoalert, a twitter feed that updates followers on the geographic location of cases of CPV.
In his role as marketing manager, Mr Boulton will be responsible for the development of marketing programmes and initiatives across Virbac’s companion animal product range, working with the product management team.
Marketing director at Virbac Chris Liggett said: “Simon has demonstrated a breadth of commercial vision and understanding since joining Virbac. His campaigns have proved consistently popular with practices because he understands the importance of providing eye-catching, but practical, support which they can use to educate clients and build loyalty.
“In his new role, he will be bringing the benefits of his creative flair to our entire companion animal range.”
