Animal lovers and charity staff enjoyed a night of 1920s glamour to celebrate 90 years of Wood Green, The Animals Charity.
Guests were treated to all things from the roaring 1920s, from traditional champagne cocktails and Charleston demonstrations to a swing band and some celebrity guests.
The evening was hosted by soap and Strictly Come Dancing star Ali Bastian and featured a surprise appearance from BBC Radio 2 newsreader Justine Greene. In total, the dinner raised £17,605, which will go directly to helping the animals in the group’s care.
Wood Green chief executive Clive Byles said: “Our birthday gala dinner was about recognising the massive contributions made by all our hard working staff, volunteers and supporters, many of whom were there on the night and dug deep into their pockets once again to help Wood Green.”
Celebrity host AIi Bastian said: “It’s been such a pleasure to come to Wood Green – I’ve loved every second of it and the staff here just care so much about what they do.
“You can really tell there’s so much love for the animals being cared for here, and Wood Green does such a great job making sure they all go to the best homes possible.”
