An equine MRI company has released videos that will help vets understand the role of nerve blocks.

Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging has launched the videos to allow vets to brush up on their skills and understanding of equine lameness.

Aware of the issues caused by ambiguous nerve blocks, the company enlisted the expertise of Michael Schramme, professor of equine surgery at the University of Lyon, France.

Each video focuses on a different part of the foot and investigates the best injection technique with reference to anatomy.

Nick Bolas of Hallmarq said: “We’re really pleased to add another series of educational videos to our online library. The veterinary industry is constantly growing and changing, so we like to do all we can to help the Hallmarq community stay up to date with the latest knowledge.

“The more accurately the injury is localised, the more useful a standing equine MRI can be to diagnose the problem.”
