Following the success of this year’s RCVS Day, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons has published a short film on its YouTube channel featuring some of the highlights of the event.
The 10-minute overview of the annual celebration – which combines the Royal College’s annual general meeting and awards ceremony – includes footage of award holders, new council members, key speakers and the inauguration of new president Neil Smith.
Head of communications Lizzie Lockett said: “We’re very aware that comparatively few members of the profession ever get the chance to attend RCVS Day – our main event of the year – as it’s held during the working week, so we wanted to provide a flavour of the day.
“It also gives us another chance to highlight the tremendous achievements of those in, or affiliated with, the veterinary and veterinary nursing professions who received RCVS awards on the day, and to encourage people to think about nominations for next year’s awards.”
With only two weeks to go before the September 13 deadline for nominations for the 2014 RCVS honours and awards round, the college is keen to hear about any individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the veterinary sphere.
