Veterinary practices are being asked to recruit owners of cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD) for a web-based survey. The study aims to learn more about owner experiences of managing the condition and the use of phosphate binders.
Owners of all cats with the condition are eligible to participate irrespective of how their cat’s illness is being treated. The 35 question survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
Owners completing the survey will be able to claim a free electronic copy of the new book, Caring for a cat with chronic kidney disease, by Dr Sarah Caney, published May 2011.
Cat Professional will provide recruited practices with:
- A complimentary print copy of Caring for a cat with chronic kidney disease;
- Flyers to give to clients owning cats with CKD – the flyers will explain the purpose of the survey and how to access it.
Data acquired from this study will be analysed by Cat Professional and, depending on the strength of the data received, will be published in veterinary and owner magazines. The identity of individual responses will remain anonymous in data analysis and no personal details will be passed on to third parties.
To recruit your practice to this study, fax a completed recruitment form to 0131 777 8025. Alternatively, fax or phone (0131 440 9029) Cat Professional with your name, practice name and postal address, contact phone number and contact e-mail address.
