Veterinary nutraceutical manufacturer VetPlus has promoted Gary Welsh to European sales manager.

Gary Welsh appointed to grow sales across Europe.

The 29 year-old Glaswegian’s new role will involve developing relationships with its 16 existing distributors in Europe, growing sales across the region and promoting its products, which are all manufactured in the UK.

Commenting on his new position, Mr Welsh said: “The role has come about following an increased demand in export growth. There is a huge market for VetPlus products in Europe and I am looking forward to growing the VetPlus presence.”

This increase in demand was reflected when VetPlus broke the £10m sales barrier thanks to significant growth in international markets and an expanding product portfolio.

Mr Walsh added: “I have worked in sales for Coca-Cola and AAH Pharmaceuticals, but the VetPlus sales philosophy is the best I have come across. It is focused on developing long-term relationships with business partners and distributors – something I think is invaluable in building a solid sales platform.

“We always go the extra mile for the distributors by providing assistance with business development, identifying USPs and encouraging the distributors to share best practice to help overall sales,” he added.

David Haythornthwaite, chairman at VetPlus, said: “We always encourage our staff to reach and achieve their career goals. The commitment Gary has shown during his time as area sales manager has been very commendable and I am delighted to be able to promote him to his new role as European sales manager.”
