Do you have an interest in creatures without backbones? If so, the Veterinary Invertebrate Society (VIS) wants to hear from you!

CentipedeThe society, which is concerned with the health, welfare, conservation and other aspects of invertebrates – both in captivity and the wild – is actively welcoming new members.

With a diverse membership comprising vets, veterinary nurses / technicians and allied professionals with an interest in the veterinary care of invertebrates, the society aims to improve knowledge on invertebrate care. To that end, an VIS newsletter is published and distributed to members annually.

The society is currently in the process of organising a VIS meeting – to take place early in 2014 – for which it is accepting input from interested parties on subjects or topics they would like to see covered in that meeting, or in the general work of the society.

  • VIS membership rates (UK and overseas) for 2013/2014 are just £10.
  • To join, or to offer input, contact VIS secretary Sarah Pellett via email (sarah_pellett@hotmail.com), or write to her c/o Animates Veterinary Clinic, 2 The Green, Thurlby, Lincolnshire, PE10 0EB. Alternatively, you can call 01778 420462.
