Laura Atkinson hopes to raise more than £1,700 for Whizz Kidz by running the London Marathon.

A Cheshire vet is putting on her running shoes and pounding the pavements as she prepares to participate in the London Marathon for charity.

Laura Atkinson, of CheshirePet in Sandbach, hopes to raise more than £1,700 for disabled children’s charity Whizz Kidz.

First and last

Speaking about her reasons for selecting Whizz Kidz, Mrs Atkinson said: “It’s a fabulous charity providing equipment and support to disabled kids so they can get out, have fun and reach their potential.

“This is my first marathon – probably my last – and I am fitting the training round my job and family life.”

The kind-hearted fund-raiser has already held a pub quiz and a charity exercise class.

“I have also been generously supported by clients sponsoring me,” she said.

“I’d greatly appreciate it and it would help me reach my fund-raising target if one or two readers sponsored me via my JustGiving page.”
